The Crescent
The Crescent Overview
The Crescent in Harrow provides a home for up to five young adults (16+) who because of past or present traumas are not able to live in more independent accommodation while needing to move on from a more institutional environment and prepare to strike out on their own and look after themselves.
Such young adults may be new to this country and requiring help to adapt to a new environment, young pregnant women who require a particularly caring environment during pregnancy, or any young adult who may have been on the road to independent living but has suffered a particular trauma which can be better addressed by an individual residential intensive programme at The Crescent. We have worked particularly well with young people with some learning disabilities and gender identity disorder.

What makes us Unique
The Crescent has built up a particular expertise in working with young people in a small residential setting who have suffered trauma in their earlier life. Our skills benefit those whose lives have led to a need to be held through a difficult time, often with mental health support. We have successfully worked with young adults with mild learning difficulties, gender identity issues, young asylum seekers who have seen the horrors of civil war and unrest and been displaced from friends family and community and suffering from mental health problems as a result, .as well as those whose life experiences and experience of care have been predominantly negative.
While always remembering that the young adults placed with us are moving towards a more independent life, The Crescent provides a supportive caring environment allowing this transition to be begun
